Councillors...*nods to each of you* Greetings to you all for the new week.
Our presence here at Blogger is coming up to a month in age and I am struck by the fact that we still look like we did on the 24th of October...
I seek ideas from all of you...what images would best represent us, colours that would do the same...I want our Island Nation of Gallimaufry to have a flag and rather than just going all snotty regal on you all and saying well we're having this, I want to be able to instead exercise some measure of democracy.
We have a collective pool of influences, ideas and that unite under the banner of The Pervy Council and I want to be able to harness that, channel it into a creative treatment for the blog.
So please ... *spreads arms out to you all* ...ideas, thoughts, suggestions, if you would all be so bold....
I vote that the flag be blue, silver, purple and green.
ReplyDeleteI also vote that these colours be incorporated into the blog layout, and that the background of the blog include the map of the island, various texts of various laws that govern our island, and mugshots of the Queen and her councillors.
I agree our back ground could use a bit of jazzing up and endorse the duchesses ideas for colours Jazzy and Bright just like us
ReplyDeleteI received a despatch from the Baron Hawkey concerning this matter and he has ideas for a flag too, though did not go into further detail, busy being busy as he is and, probably, hoping to add to his elusive reputation...cheeky bugger.
ReplyDeleteNow, blue, silver, purple and green...those I like as a choice BUT Pammers, why those colours, what do they represent and what shades of said colours?
If I was feeling like a particular smartarse...*is pensive* and I am, I would say...
The blue could be representative of the sky above or the sea surrounding our island nation.
Purple could perhaps be a nod to Gallimaufry's endeavour to meld different schools of thought, disciplines, ideas, beliefs, oppositions, etc - purple being the mix of: red indicative of stimulation, blue of calm.
Green could, like blue, be a direct cap-doffing to the island's natural beauties. However, I would like to adopt green as the regal colour, for several reasons - in many cultures, it has powerful, positive meaning, I love the colour and a green ribbon represents awareness of Bipolar Disorder.
As to silver, yes, like that. Not nearly as showy as gold. Shiny, Pammers, shiny shiny silver, like the Moon :) ...but you need to take into account that it will be reduced to being grey on a flag/in 2D/on our computer screen.
Perhaps something like this site:

may be of use to us all in this endeavour..
